It’s fair to say that Star Wars has pretty much conquered the internet and popular culture like an imperial cyber march. So much so that it’s beginning to draw in every other bit of popular culture and chewing on it. Sometimes it’s just self referential using gags that everyone gets. Sometimes it’s so thuggishly funny it has to be included (like the one below). Whatever you think – Star Wars is going nowhere. Avengers photo gags in thirty years? Who knows. It lacks the juicy soap opera of bother and sister having an unsuspecting kiss and gay robots so maybe it will never reach the heady heights that Lucas’ brain child enjoys. Never the less, here’s a selection for you…
Darth Vader you fool! Anakin Skywalker hasn’t had the poontang for some time it would appear. Peter Serafinowicz has given us some insight into the life of Darth Vader, clearly torn between the fact that he is finally feeling human thoughts and the fact that he has a johnson like a screwdriver.
Ladies and gentlemen – I give you Brian Kidd, also otherwise known as the Unipiper of Portland. Here he’s doing a medley of Star Wars tunes while playing the part. There are very few things as automatically cheerful as watching a Lord of the Sith play bagpipes on a Unicycle. We here at BT always suspected as much – now here’s the proof.
The only thing better than what we see here is if he rides into the back of that parked car.
Yoda is a very old man / Brussel Sprout. In his years of solitude he has been eating a lot of Swamp Radish, even gained a cheerful taste for the stuff as it grows low making it easy for the old feller to get his hands on it. The force has to be reserved for pulling X-Wings out of bogs of course. But given his Sprout heritage it is perhaps unsurprising that the elder members of his species create increasingly large clouds of noxious gas prior to death. Being 600 years old he couldn’t give a rats ass.
The guy who posted this video is as mortified by it’s popularity as we are about finsing it funny. I defy you to watch it the whole way through without a childish snigger.
To celebrate the sixth anniversary of Twitter the people over at Jimmy Kimmel’s show in the US compiled famous folks reading out actual tweets – and not the cheery ones either. What follows is actually very funny.
Dan is a massive fan of Twitter – as the feed beside us attests – however the idea of limiting to 140 words confuses me – 140 letters is beyond me. How many words is that?
Here it is! It’s the Ghostbusters that didn’t die! If we’re being honest – more fun you can’t have in 1:50 – well not without serious misgivings by anyone else involved. It’s Will Smith being y’know… Will Smith! It’s got aliens in it and one of the best actor playin’ another actor swap ups you are ever likely to see.
That Brolin guy’s come a long way since the Goonies.
Never in the field of conflict has the passing of one man been so subject to conspiracy theory and conjecture. As the rebel alliance battled to destroy the Empire’s deathstar above the rebel base on Yavin no one could have expected the great loss they were about to suffer. One of the greatest pilots in the history of the Alliance was shockingly lost in the opening moments of the conflict. Here, sadly, are his final moments…
…Porkins. We salute you. And you are really not ‘all right.’
Loveless, jobless and possibly terminally ill, Frank has had enough of the downward spiral of America. With nothing left to lose, Frank takes his gun and decides to off the stupidest, cruelest and most repellent members of society with an unusual accomplice: 16-year-old Roxy, who shares his sense of rage and disenfranchisement. From stand-up comedian and director Bobcat Goldthwait comes a scathing and hilarious attack on all that is sacred in the United States of America. Watch out – naughty words!!
And, by way of cultural retort – here’s a film that’d likely earn the makers and cast a quick visit from the pair above. This trailer, however is a high hitter on IMDb.com so the it would appear the people have spoken. If only they’d shut up.
What’s weirdest is you never see two heads…
Most of us have a tonne of home videos sitting around at home and John & Richard Ramsey are no different. What sets these two brothers apart from the rest of us however is that one day they decided to break out some of those old videos and record a DVD style commentary over the top. The result is painfully funny.
I’m still trying to find a regular feature to fill the Fridays slot now that Monsieur Poppaleux has met his demise. I’ll keep you all posted on how that goes.
Truly, sometimes things just combine into divine comedy. Eddie Izzard’s great at the best of times but you blend him up with Darth Vader trying to get Penne Aribiattar in the Death Star Canteen and then uploaded as a video in Lego by Thorn2200 and its no surprise that its almost got 14 million hits. Absolute three way genius!!
