Moon’s Song of the Week: Gangnam Style by PSY

This track is pretty much a global mega-hit by now but the UK has been unusually slow to catch on so I thought I’d throw it up. It has over 200 million views on youtube and it’s only been out a month or so. How is that possible? Because it’s Korean of course.

South Korean rapper, PSY has been turning out insane yet wonderful tracks for over ten years and Gangnam Style currently holds the record for the most viewed K-Pop track on youtube. Who knew.

Oh and while you’re here, check out the Gandalf version by Screen Team.

Moon’s Song of the Week: The Fight by Krispy Kreme

My buddy Josh (who you’ll remember from all of our more recent films) has been trying to get me to check out Krispy Kreme for weeks now. I finally got around to it and am now set to loose a lot of time catching up on his hilarious back catalogue. Krispy Kreme is a rapper and youtube star who produces low budget videos on a regular basis. They are very funny and surprisingly well written, plus how can you not love a guy who dresses like John Cena just because he wants to.

The Thoughtful Guy Rap

Much like we here at the Bunker, Youtubers Rhett & Link are both thoughtful guys. In fact, they like to think about the mysteries of the universe so much that they mad a rap video about it.

If you like your musical comedy with a Flight of the Conchords feel then you’ll probably dig this.

Star Wars: Rap Battles of History: Darth Vader Vs Hitler

While we are revealing the development work for the Lost Jedi project every second Wednesday; we thought we should pay homage to the trilogy that spawned it. Every second Wednesday we will be posting up articles, videos and funny shit for folks to have a look at.

This week: Adolf versus Darth Vader. Hard to see how this one might play out. Hitler it turns out has quite a dirty riff up his sleeve during this lyrical abuse contest for the famous. Who will win? No matter what, the galaxy will lose….

Farewell to Steve Jobs…With Rap!

Given that our company is, like so many others, powered by Apple products (specifically 2 iPhones, Steve’s behemoth of a Mac and a post about iPads which generates far more hits than the amount of research I put into it probably deserves) I kinda feel like we should have at least acknowledged  the departure of Steve Jobs from the company. If you think of the rise of digital comics as being something tied directly to the rise of the iphone and ipad (which I do) then it becomes hard to overstate just how much influence he’s had on our industry.

Fortunately comedy rap group Pantless Knights have chosen to honour him in the only way that seems appropriate, they’ve re-recorded Jay-Z’s What More Can I Say as a tribute to the man himself. It’s as good a parody song as you’re going to hear and a touching send off for the man who left us all standing on the tube, screaming at some fictional birds because they can’t take down some obnoxious pigs.

Godspeed Steve!

Wish I Had A Portal Gun – Aperture Science Rap

I’m away on my honeymoon right now but in order to not shirk my Bunkerly duties, I’ve queued up 10 awesome vids for you dear people. Enjoy!

College Humour have been pretty aggressive at taking down versions of this track on youtube, so hopefully the embed still works by the time you get this. Anyone who’s played Valve’s puzzle-opus will know that once you’ve thought with portals, you can never go back. In this track comedy geek site Dorkly have managed to express the desires of anyone who’s ever wanted to be ‘over there’ without the tiresome need for walking.

Just a warning though, the language is a little creative so it’s perhaps not one for the kids.
